We have three ways to bore you!
In these litigious times, insuring yourself against the possibility of accidentally harming someone or something has become essential. Treasure Sales Ltd., as the Sale day operator, are insured for "third-party liability", (like someone getting injured by one of our canopies), but this policy does not cover vendors' risks, (like a browser tripping over YOUR inventory!). Whilst it is not mandatory for vendors to hold liability insurance, IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED! Here is information about coverage we have, and ways you can get covered yourself.
Our own 3rd party liability

For regular vendors
If you regularly sell at markets, be they Treasure Sales or at other vendors, then you may find it cost effective to take out a policy covering your activities for the season or whole year. We know of a few sources of such policies and list them for you here. We do NOT endorse these suppliers, cannot advise the suitability of their products for you, cannot list all possible suppliers, nor do we receive anything for listing these few here.
Western Financial Group - they happen to provide the group policy liability insurance for the Alberta Farmers Market Association (AFMA); you could participate in that if you are a member, but make sure it would cover you if you sell through Treasure Sales as we are NOT an officially recognized Farmers Market, nor a member of AFMA. Nonetheless they can quote you for your own individual policy to cover you at ANY market.
PAL Insurance Brokers - They can survey the insurance underwriters (eg. Lloyds of London) for various types and levels of coverage. Their "Exhibitor Liability" products will cover you as long as you are based in Canada and have only one booth operationg at any one time.

Group cover for casual vendors
Treasure Sales Ltd. is the first and only market known in Alberta to offer a pooled policy to cover vendors at our own Sales.
We take out a policy to cover a minimum of 15 pooled vendors per Sale; the list of participating vendors can change Sale to Sale. If we have fewer participants then we can either subsidize the shortfall ourselves; or ask if participants want to share the extra pro-rata cost of the missing; or cancel that one Sale's policy. We can use extra funds from large pools to subsidize smaller pools.
To participate in the weekly pool for the date(s) that you expect to attend our Treasure Sale, you need to buy an insurance ticket at least 5 days before the Sale date. You can do that at the time of booking the vendor's ticket, or buy-in separately by clicking here:
